Who drove the red sports car from the mansion And laid upon the grass in summer time? And who done me out high time fashion And made me read between the lines? And who said, "Follow the mind, it's your only chance, Sit on your throne, you got to make it on your own, on your own"? And who said, "Ha, ha, look at you, look at you, You got jam on.

I'm not impressed by the supposedly popular sentiment that this is a lesser work of Van Morrison's solo career, after he left Them in ; this is, in fact, one of my favorite Morrison recordings. "Madame George" and "T.B. Sheets" alternate between those typical Irish preoccupations, sin and salvation, sex and spirit, with the fire of an Otis /5(6).

Aug 18,  · “Who Drove the Red Sports Car?” is a slow blues and reminds me of a song by The Band for some reason. It boasts some fine piano by Paul Griffin, lots of sharp guitar playing, and once again has Van talking himself into possible legal trouble with lines like, “Look at you/Look at me/You got jam on your face/And who did your homework?”.

Feb 13,  · The mono "Who Drove the Red Sports Car" on T. B. Sheets is also a bit shorter than the stereo mix on Blowin' Your Mind. Btw, thanks to this thread I'm listening to Blowin' Your Mind for the first time in many many years.
